01. What is polyphonic music?
As polyphony or polyphonic music, any musical genre is characterized which is based on many melodic lines, which are appropriately intertwined forming a polylinear texture. These lines are performed musically at the same time and the result is a harmonious listening.
02. What kind of choir is Fantasy Choir?
The choir consists of young men and women, i.e. it is mixed, and uses polyphonic music. Its members are divided into four voice groups according to the range of their voice. The voices consist of female sopranos and altos and male tenors and bassos. By resonating voices at different pitches (ie notes, frequencies) harmonious sounds are produced which give a unique character.
Fantasy Choir is a choir with a repertoire inspired by the world of fantasy (films, TV series, games, etc.). Its members have love and engage in parallel activities concerning this world.
03. What are the activities of the choir?
The choir organizes and participates in numerous events every year.

04. What skills are needed to join the choir?
Any previous experience is a plus, although many choristers started their choir "career" with no experience at all. No special vocal skills are required and we accept members even with zero musical knowledge. The conductor as well as the members will help you integrate into the group. Come and find out!
05. How much time is required to join the choir?
The regular rehearsal takes place every Saturday 17:00-20:00 in the area of Kerameikos. From time to time special rehearsals are arranged if these are required for a performance. Beyond the rehearsals and the events themselves, no more time is required.
06. Is there a cost or membership fee to join the choir?
Participation in the choir and learning music costs 10 euros per month for the rental of the rehearsal space as well as the coverage of operating expenses, seminars, uniforms, etc. Through the practice process one will acquire the basic tools to meet the needs of the choral song. If someone wants to deal more systematically with music, the choir cooperates with the conservatory "Formix" which is recognized by the state and offers low tuition fees and scholarships to the members and friends of the choir.

Several tracks are available on our YouTube channel. You can also come to one of our rehearsals or events. In the rehearsal you can see how we prepare, while at some event or function you will hear our performance.

09. Am I too young or too old to join the choir?
The majority of participating members are 20-40 years old as the choir is young. Basically, we accept new, aged, members, from 18 years old, but the choir is open to any age as long as it has an interest in the world of fantasy. If you like to join a group and sing, don't worry about your age or knowledge. Let's get to know each other up close!
10. Why should I join a choir?
The choir is a musical ensemble that gives the opportunity to get to know and learn music but also to feel the satisfaction of being part of a group that works in concert with a common effort to achieve a goal. This fact creates bonds and friendships between its members. Putting in the effort and making use of the potential of each member for an even result is no different from the preparation that takes place in a sports team.
